Kim Summers Bio
Between 1970 and 1987 Kim played with or against every woman in Columbus Softball during that period, including many who are already inducted into the Hall of Fame as well as a lot of the men.
Kim is one of the early pioneers who helped pave the way for women to play organized sports.
She started playing in ASA in 1970 when she was 13, playing for Henry Stott and Bill Harden for the Columbus Merchanettes.
She played in leagues in North Vernon and Columbus where she ended up on the All-Star team as the starting shortstop. She also had the most doubles and triples in 1971 in the Bakalar Womens league.
Kim was a shortstop who was confident and smooth as silk when she played. She always batted in the top of the order and aggressive in taking extra bases. She was a fierce competitor which was a contrast to her quiet personality off the field.
