- He was probably the best 1st baseman to play slow pitch in the history of Columbus Softball.
- Also known as a tremendous hitter who consistently hit for average as well as hitting with power.
- Steve enjoyed softball and was cordial and displayed respect to all he played with and against.
- His great presence and truly outstanding skills helped Columbus become a
well-known place for top notch softball.
- He played softball in Columbus from 1968-1986 (18 years).
- He played on many of the great teams from Columbus, namely the Athenians, Tom Picketts Music Center and Columbus Bar.
