Jay Cottrills Bio
Jay played for 15 years in Columbus Indiana from 1977 to 1993.
Some of the teams he played for were the Columbus Merchants, Columbus Silgas, Dominos Pizza, and CG’s Pizza.
His hustle, elite batting swing (Tomahawk) and winning attitude made him standout as a player! Very reliable. He played the same against a league team or against a tournament team. Gave 100% all the time.
His teams won several league and league tournaments during his career playing in Columbus. Jay was always an above average hitter and he was a great lead off hitter.
Jay always played at 100 miles an hour. Extreme hustle as a defensive outfielder, Pitchers feared him being at the plate. He made many pitchers better at their position from an awareness standpoint. Charlie hustle head first slides all the time.
Jay represented everything Columbus Softball was all about.
